Overview
Malaysia is one of the lowest-friction trips in Southeast Asia. Most nationalities enter visa-free, flights connect well from Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Australia, and prices sit well below Singapore next door. The mix of things to do in Malaysia is wide — a modern capital, a hill station with theme parks on top, and proper beach islands — all in one country.
It is also the easiest country to combine: Singapore is an hour's flight or a five-hour coach away, and KL-plus-Singapore is the most common first Southeast Asia pairing we see. Best months are December to April for the main west-coast circuit. Use this page to plan the trip; use the city pages to book.
