Overview
Boracay is a 7 km island with one of Asia's most famous beaches: White Beach, four kilometres of powder-fine sand and calm, shallow turquoise water. A 2018 clean-up left it cleaner and less chaotic, with capped visitor numbers.
It is a pure beach holiday — ideal for honeymooners and families who want calm sea, water sports and sunsets, all walkable from their hotel.

Live on White Beach. Swim in the morning when the water is glass-clear; be on the sand at sunset — the postcard moment.
Sail a paraw at sunset. A shared ride on these local outrigger sailboats runs ₱500–₱800 ($8–$13) per person; book a day ahead in high season.
Go island hopping. Group boat tours loop to Crystal Cove, Crocodile Island's reef and Magic Island, usually with a seafood lunch — the best-value day here.
Try the water sports. Parasailing, helmet diving for non-swimmers, cliff jumping at Ariel's Point and kitesurfing at Bulabog Beach cover every thrill level.
Escape to Puka Shell Beach at the quiet north tip, after the tour crowds leave.
Drinking and parties on the sand are now restricted — nightlife lives in the beachfront bars and D'Mall area.
Boracay has no airport — fly to Caticlan for the shortest transfer: a short trike ride to the jetty, then a 15-minute boat. Kalibo airport often has cheaper fares but adds a 1.5–2 hour bus ride to the same jetty. Both are about an hour's flight from Manila or Cebu. November to May is the dry season with calm seas — December to February is the most pleasant, March to May the hottest. June to October brings rain and occasional typhoons; hotel prices drop but boat trips get cancelled more often. Good to know
Station 2 for restaurants and action, Station 1 for the widest, quietest sand and pricier resorts, Station 3 for budget stays. The whole 4 km beach is walkable, so no choice is wrong.
Three full days: one for White Beach and the sunset paraw sail, one for island hopping, one for water sports or Puka Beach. Add a buffer day in the rainy season.
By Philippine standards, a little; by resort-island standards, cheap. Beachfront meals run ₱300–₱600 ($5–$10), island-hopping group tours about ₱1,200–₱2,000 ($20–$32), and parasailing around ₱2,500 ($40).
About ₱500 ($8) per person at the Caticlan jetty: a ₱300 environmental fee for foreign visitors, a ₱150 terminal fee and a ₱50 boat fare. Pay them in advance online through the official Boracay iPass.
