Uluwatu Temple and the Kecak fire dance. A cliff-top temple 70 metres above the ocean. The sunset Kecak dance show is Bali's single best evening — around Rp 150,000 ($8) plus a small temple entry fee. Book the show ahead in peak season, and watch your sunglasses around the monkeys.
Tanah Lot. The famous temple on a rock in the sea. Go for sunset, arrive an hour early, and expect crowds — it is still worth it once.
Water sports at Tanjung Benoa. Parasailing, jet ski, banana boat and the works in one bay. Combo packages run around Rp 550,000-900,000 ($30-$50). Book online instead of paying beach-walker rates.
Nusa Penida day trip. Fast boat from Sanur, then a bumpy drive to the Kelingking "T-Rex" cliff, Angel's Billabong and Broken Beach. A long but unforgettable day — roughly Rp 900,000-1,200,000 ($50-$65) with transfers.
Waterbom Bali. One of Asia's best water parks, right in Kuta. A full day with kids or friends; single-day tickets around Rp 570,000 ($31).
A beach club sunset. Pick one — Uluwatu's cliff clubs or Seminyak's beachfront ones. Entry is often a minimum spend of Rp 350,000-600,000 ($20-$33) per person. One evening is enough for most budgets.
