Itinerary
Day 1: Yogyakarta - Surabaya Gubeng Train Station
- 5:40pm: Arrive at Yogyakarta Train Station at least 1 hour before departure
- 6:40pm – 11:22pm: Take the Wijayakusuma train at Yogyakarta Train Station (cost of train ticket is included)
- 11:30pm Our local Surabaya tour guide will pick you up at Surabaya Gubeng Train Station. You will travel to Mount Bromo area by car, this journey will take about 2-3 hours
Day 2: Mount Bromo Sunrise - Yogyakarta Train Station
- 2:30am: Arrive at Cemoro Lawang and transfer to a private 4WD jeep
- 3:30am: Reach Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Have a light breakfast at a nearby restaurant.
- 4:15am: Hike for 10–15 minutes to reach the sunrise viewpoint. Watch the spectacular sunrise (There are many viewpoints nearby. Our guide will bring you to the viewpoint that is less crowded – all have similar views).
- 6am: Return to the 4WD jeep after sunrise and travel 30 minutes to the Sea of Sand for photo taking.
- 7am: Travel 30 minutes to another part of the Sea of Sand.
- 7:30am: Walk 30–45 minutes or ride on a horse (optional) to reach the foot of Bromo Crater. Climb 250 flight of stairs for 10–15 minutes to reach the rim of Bromo Crater.
- 9am: Return to your jeep at around 8–9am and transfer back to a private car at Cemoro Lawang.
- [OPTIONAL] Travel 1 hour to Madakaripura Waterfall to enjoy the magnificent natural sight.
- 3:40pm Drop off at Surabaya Gubeng Train Station by 3:40pm
- 4:40pm - 8:50pm: Take the Sancaka train at Surabaya Gubeng Train Station (cost of train ticket is included)
