Big-city Malaysia: twin towers, temples and street food
Overview
Kuala Lumpur has three very different theme parks, and picking the right one saves you a full day and a lot of money. Expect to spend roughly RM80-RM250 ($20-$61) per adult ticket depending on the park.
The big three are Sunway Lagoon (water + rides in one), Genting SkyWorlds (movie-themed rides in the hills) and Berjaya Times Square (indoor, in the city centre). All three sell tickets online, and online prices are usually lower than gate prices.

Pick Sunway Lagoon if you only have one park day. It is six parks in one — water slides, dry rides, a small zoo and a scream park — so nobody in the family gets bored. It is about 30-40 minutes from central KL by Grab.
Pick Genting SkyWorlds if your group is mostly adults or teens. The rides are newer and bigger, and the hill air is cool. Skip it if you are short on time — the trip up and back eats 3 hours.
Skip Berjaya Times Square if you have already done Sunway Lagoon — it is much smaller. It only makes sense as a half-day backup with young kids or when it rains.

Sunway Lagoon is the best all-round pick. One ticket covers a water park, an amusement park, a wildlife zone and more. If you want big movie-themed rides, go up to Genting SkyWorlds instead — it is about an hour from KL.
