Temples, surf beaches and rice terraces on one island

Overview

Bali nightlife

Bali's nightlife runs from IDR 35,000 ($2) beers in Kuta to IDR 1,500,000 ($85) daybeds at clifftop clubs — the island covers every budget, and each area has its own personality. A typical good night out lands around IDR 400,000–800,000 ($22–$44) per person with dinner and drinks.

The key decision is area, not venue. Pick the neighbourhood that matches your energy, and the good spots find themselves.

How to choose

If you want one classic Bali evening, book a Seminyak beach-club sunset: arrive by 4:30 pm, take a daybed or bar seat, and stay through golden hour. The minimum spend converts into food and drinks, so a couple usually consumes it easily.

Choose Canggu if you are under 35 and want the scene; choose Kuta only for cheap and loud — it is fun, but it is the least "Bali" of all the areas.

Uluwatu's Sunday sunset sessions are special, but factor the drive: 45–90 minutes from Seminyak depending on traffic. Stay on that coast the same night if you can.

Skip club nights entirely if you are based in Ubud — do not commute an hour+ each way for a party. Ubud rewards early mornings instead; see Bali day tours and temples in Bali. Vegetarians eat brilliantly everywhere in Bali — Ubud especially is full of pure-veg and vegan cafes.
