Overview
Things to do in Da Lat
Da Lat is a hill town at 1,500 m in Vietnam's Central Highlands, where the weather sits around 20°C all year. It suits couples and anyone melting in Ho Chi Minh City, a 50-minute flight away. December to March is the dry, blue-sky season.
- Ride the cable car over pine forests to Truc Lam monastery
- Datanla Falls — take the alpine coaster down, or book canyoning if you want adrenaline
- Pick strawberries and walk the flower farms around town
- See the oddball Crazy House, an architect-built fantasy guesthouse
- Night market bites: grilled rice-paper "Vietnamese pizza" and hot soy milk, most snacks under ₫50,000 ($2)
Most sights are cheap by any standard — entry fees for the falls, gardens and Crazy House each run well under ₫100,000 ($4). Two full days cover the highlights; add a third for canyoning or a countryside farm tour.
