Start every KL evening at Jalan Alor. Even if you do nothing else, this street is the city's best night experience, and a full meal there costs less than a single cocktail at a rooftop bar.
Pick Heli Lounge or SkyBar for one splurge night. Go 30-45 minutes before sunset for the helipad seats. One expensive drink buys you the best view in the city.
Choose Changkat if you want to wander between bars, and TREC/Zouk only if you actually want to dance until 3 am. They are different crowds.
Skip pub crawls sold to tourists if you drink little — with Malaysia's alcohol prices, you will not get your money's worth. Do a food tour instead.
