Book the desert safari first — it is the baseline Dubai adventure and the cheapest item here. Then decide if you want one premium thrill on top. If money is no issue and your stomach agrees, the Palm skydive is world-top-three for views; if AED 2,500 sounds absurd (fair), the XLine gives you a real adrenaline story at a quarter of the price.
Skip the self-drive buggy if you already booked dune bashing in a safari — same dunes, and the pro drivers honestly throw the vehicle around harder than you will. Choose the buggy only if driving yourself IS the point.
Motion sickness warning, seriously: dune bashing is 30-40 minutes of rollercoaster driving. Take a light lunch and sit in front. The XLine is an urban zipline across Dubai Marina — 1 km long, up to 80 km/h, flying between skyscrapers. It costs about AED 650 ($175) and takes a morning including the briefing.
Dune bashing comes included in most desert safaris (around AED 100-150 / $27-$41). Self-drive dune buggies are separate: about AED 360-600 ($98-$165) per buggy for 1-2 hours.
